This announcer is an absolute joke to say Michelle Kwan won this on pedigree and not on form. Slutskaya had at least 3 bad landings and was hardly artistic.

I always liked her spunk.......... and you may hate me for this.......but.... Knowing what we know now regarding Russia and doping - anyone else question her Vasculitis and heart issues in 2004? Reports were she almost died, then in 2005 she returns stronger than ever and is undefeated all season? Hate that I'm even thinking this, but given Russia's history it wouldn't suprise me.

Michelle connected with her music way better than Irina! You can slap any music onto any of Irina's program and it would look all the same. Look at all the different elements (spread eagle, Charlotte, reverse camel spin, differing layback positions, forward and backward spirals, etc...) Kwan has incorporated into her programs through out the years in addition to the required jumps.

I would have scored 5.8 for technical and 6.0 for presentation. This program was seamless and breathtaking.

What is that gesture she always does in the kiss and cry? She touches her nose and then wiggles her ear. For some dumb reason, it feels bothersome to me, but hey, whatever works for her.

Figure skating back then was so much easier compared to what people do today. How the sport has evolved and changed.

If people held the Olympics each year, Michelle would win the most golds. Actually, Michelle was robbed at the 98 Olympics . Michelle's artistry was much better than Tara. Tara skated like a happy puppy . Tara's technique was overrated. Tara's flip and lutz would be called out for under rotation. Tara's triples were cheap.

Fair enough that she was more conservative in 1998 Nagano because of her foot injury, but she could've easily won the 2002 Olympics with this program, it's a shame she fired her coach and had that heartbreaking fall. She was the best in the world, yet was never an Olympic champion

How this program lost to Sarah Hughes' remains a mystery! Maria was the only skater with a triple lutz on an outside edge; most of Sarah's jumps were cheated on the entrance and under-rotated.

Plenty of under-rotations in Sarah's jumps, not to mention cheated entrances. But she did have lovely movements and spins.

I think my favorite part is when the commentators called Michelle Kwan “not an emotional girl” like did you see 95 worlds? 96 worlds? 98 Olympics?

Never someone gives up on themselves as much as she has over her career.
